Today a post of mine went live on the wonderful blog, Fresh Fiction. (There’s also a giveaway of Broken Ground going on, which you should feel free to enter.)
I’ve written a fair number of posts in my time, but I have to say, this particular one is a favorite–probably because it concerns not so much me or my book, Broken Ground, but another woman writer, Sanora Babb, whose incredible novel, Whose Names Are Unknown, was shelved because of the publication of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath.

Well guess what day it also is today? It’s an anniversary. To quote the caption below: Today in 1940 John Steinbeck was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for The Grapes of Wrath.
Okay. Wow. If you read my Fresh Fiction blog post you’ll know why the coincidence takes my breath away. Talk about irony.
